Looking at Heaven

Looking at Heaven - 30x30", acrylic

If you know Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains, you will understand the title. This is from a summer hike on Whistler Mountain, up by Harmony Lake (of which I've done another painting recently - see it here). Blackcomb is right beside Whistler, across the valley (Singing Pass). The ski runs in the distance of this painting are collectively called "7th Heaven". Hence the name...

I've been there!

I've been in Whistler for 30 years and no matter where I go, I still feel like I am looking at heaven.

Thanks for sharing, Gord

Wonderful painting - you absolutely captured summer in Whistler. Inspiring. (plus it is getting me excited about my trip to Whistler - I'll be skiing those runs in a couple of weeks!)

Lisa, What a wonderful work!. You have captured the scenery perfectly. This is the type of painting you can live with and love for year after year.
